Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has submitted at least seventeen names to the House of
Assembly for consideration and screening as Members of the State Executive Council sharpedgenews.com has learnt.
At least thirteen of the seventeen nominees for commissioners served in the first term.
The list of newly nominated commissioners is allegedly being kept secret until this Thursday morning so as to forestall the embarrassing face-off generated during the first term when law makers complained that the media was given preference over and above law makers.
Prominent among the nominees are his Attorney-General and commissioner for Justice during his first tenure, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, Architect Adejuyigbe, the current caretaker committee chairman of Akure South Local government. Mr. Clement Faboyede, Commissioner for Community Development and Chairman of the Mimiko Campaign Organization and Engineer Gboye Adegbenro, from Ifedore Local Government, erstwhile Commissioner for works are on the list.
His close associate from Owo Local Government, former Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Niran Sule has not yet made the list. However, Lady Yemii Mahmoud a lecturer with the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo is on the list. Others are Mr. Deji Falae from Akure North, Mr. Kayode Akinmade from Idanre, Otunba Nicholas Tofowomo from Ile-Oluji, Oke-Igbo Lasisi Olusayo (Akoko North-East) Akin Adaramola, erstwhile Commissioner for Planning and Budgeting (Akoko North West) Bamidele Dada (Akoko South West) Atere (Akoko South East) Dr. Bode Omoloja (Owo).
Others are Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, former Health Commissioner (Ondo East) Yele Ogundipe, former Commissioner for Finance (Ondo West) Barrister Sola Ebiseeni (Ilaje), Barrister Remi Olatubora (Irele) Okitipupa and Odigbo do not have nominees yet. Also that of Ese-Odo is still unclear.
