As the race for various political offices gathers momentum, Dr. Alex Otti, an sccomplished banker and renown economist who narrowly lost the governorship contest of Abia state in 2015 to the incumbent governor has taken another shot at officer by picking the nomination form under All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.
Dr. Otto was accompanied by his wife and many supporter to APGA National Secretariat, Abuja Thursday to accomplish the task. Speaking to journalists after completing and submission of the form, Dr. Otti said he has put the experience of 2015 election behind him and has recharged fully ready to take over the leadership of Abia state. “The good news is the present government has failed. The battle in Abia state is not necessarily who will take power, but a battle between the few people who have held the state hostage and the majority who own the state and who now give us massive support. It is about reclaiming Abia and giving back to those who own it, Otti said.

Some areas that will receive his priority attention if elected governor of Abia include good governance through transparent management of the resources of the state, which said is not the case now.

The next time is to create an enabling environment for the people to excell since they are “energetic and highly skilled”. Roads in Abia, the commercial town will be attended to, with proper environmental sanitation and power. Security will be in the front burner, just as education without winch Dr. Otti said he wouldn’t have been at the party office to buy form.

Healthcare is critical. According to Otti if one is sick in Abia state there is hardly  hospital you can go for treatment, except the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia.
