The Asiwaju mandate group (AMG) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for suspending the Central bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele.
The National Coordinator of the group, Hon. Sarah Shekwonya Tukura, made the commendation speaking with the press in Abuja on Sunday.
Hon. Sarah said the suspension is apt, prompt and points to the readiness of this administration to put the people first for the sustainable development of the country.
According to her, the embertled CBN governor is accused of wanton corruption and abuse of office in the dual exchange rate policy of the apex bank.
Consequently, Mr. Shola Shonubi has been appointed as the acting Governor of the apex bank with immediate effect. Prior to this appointment, he was the deputy Governor (operations) with extensive knowledge and experience in the financial sector.
However, tye Asiwaju Mandate group (AMG) heartily felicitate with Mr. Shonubi on this appointment.
