AMG describes Atiku’s certificate forgery inquest on President Tinubu as ‘WILD GOOSE CHASE’

By Gami Tadanyigbe

The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) has described with astonishment the desperation with which the candidate of the main opposition party PDP Atiku Abubakar in his wild goose chase, in a “certificate forgery” as journey to no where.

The National Publicity Secretary AMG, Abubakar Dahiru, who disclosed this in a press statement issued to newsmen in Abuja, also described Atiku’s inquest as futility all in a bid to clinch power cheaply at all cost.

Dahiru said the group have followed calmly and  observed keenly to see where this desperate attempt at subverting the Will of the people will end, adding that it was going to end up being another exercise in futility.

According to him, is noteworthy that our Judiciary has given some landmark judgements in which elections were annulled, declared inconclusive and upturned.

“Harping on this, it is not surprising to see candidates who brazenly and glaringly lost in an election resorting to wasting court’s time through frivolous, flimsy and sometimes unreasonable cases.

“The case of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar against the educational qualification of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is clearly one of those. Like the saying goes; a “drowning man will clutch at even a straw to keep afloat” .

“No gainsaying, Mr Atiku Abubakar should win the award for the most scandalous politician in Nigeria’s history. We don’t go digging dirts about our opponents the way they go about imposing on our candidate but the issues are laid bare in the public domain.

“Nigerians know those who have integrity and those who lacks it, so we wouldn’t waste previous time joining issues with anyone. It is however sad that at a time when all well meaning Nigerians should leave politics behind and focus on pulling our country out of the woods.

“some are hell-bent on distracting the President and dragging the wheel of governance to a halt with frivolous law suits in a matter that anyone with even an atom or iota of discernment knows belongs to the trash bin of legal history.

“We therefore appeal to Nigerians not to allow themselves get distracted by these machinations purely aimed at sabotage and misdirection of the good intentions and the courageous steps being taken by Mr President to right the wrongs that have kept our country stiff-stuck in the interlock and gridlock of poverty and underdevelopment.

“We call on all Nigerians irrespective of political/ideological persuations and other affiliations to consider, focus and give priority to the myriads of challenges ranging from insecurities, unemployment, infrastructural deficit as well as the dicey, fragile and unstable international relations we are confronted with at this point in time.

“Nigeria will certainly be better off with a President who will not be distracted given the exigencies of the moment,” the statement said.
