A forty six year old village bricklayer was caught this morning with about 2.07 kilogramme of cocaine into Nigeria.
The drug trafficker, whose name was not disclosed allegedly hails from the village of Alor in Anambra State.
The suspect, was allegedly recruited by agents of notorious international drug barons who often prowl the interior consenpting unsuspecting questions persons, with false promises of foreign job prospects. He was said to have pawned family land in Alor and used the proceeds to travel to Brazil. He allegedly told officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) who arrested him upon arrival in Lagos today that he could not secure a job since arriving Brazil on July 10, 2013 and failed to secure a job.
His unsuccessful search for job, according to Mr. Micheal Ofoyeju, the spokesman of NDLEA, landed him in the midst of a cartel of drug barons.
He allegedly excreted about eighty three wraps of the narcotic substance, a quantity considered as one of the biggest ever ingested by any single individual in the history of arrests ever made by NDLEA. He was said to have flown Asky airline from Brazil.
Investigations into the matter, according to Ofoyeju, continues.
