Ansar-ud-deen Tasks Govt over Activities of Boko Haram

The Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria on Sunday in Ibadan called on the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the heinous activities of the Boko Haram sect.

This was contained in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Muibi Adebanjo.

The statement described the activities of the sect as evil, cruel and unwarranted, and urged the government to do everything possible to stop the unwarranted killing of innocent souls and destruction of property.

“It is shocking and alarming to wake up every morning only to hear that innocent souls have been murdered.

“It is very shameful and wicked to cut down innocent souls to satisfy selfish interest,’’ it said.

The statement urged the government to take proactive measures to address the issue and called on government at all levels to put in place policies that would ameliorate the sufferings of the people.

It urged the government to create jobs, provide functional social infrastructure and improve the welfare of workers through better pay.

The statement appealed to the Boko Haram sect to sheathe their swords and stop the unwarranted killings, saying that they could not achieved their objective through evil acts.

It urged security agencies to be dedicated to their duties by protecting the lives and property of the people.
