Workers in the six Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),  under the umbrella of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), has embarked on an indefinite strike action over non-release of December 2021 allocations by FCTA.

Comrade Ibrahim Kabi, the FCT NULGE President, while addressing journalists in kuje, said that strike action had become imperative to enable them press home their demands.

Kabi said at the end of their meeting on Wednesday, it was agreed that the FCT Internalaly Generated Revenue (IGS), be fully released and December 2021 allocation from FAAC to the Area Councils held by the FCT Administration released.

According to him, the rights and functions of the Area Councils as conferred under the fourth schedule in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As amended) be respected by the FCTA.

“Worried by the non- abatement of the current impasse between the FCTA and the area councils chairmen in FCT, the FCT NULGE has embarked on an indefinite strike over none release of December 2021 allocation.

“NULGE FCT chapter in a genuine efforts aimed at amicable settlement of the matter, met with the chairmen of the six (6) area councils on Wednesday 16, February 2022.

“As a result of the deadlock, area councils workers in the FCT have continued to surfer untold hardship since beginning of this year, as no meaningful efforts is in sight to see how our January salaries would be paid.

“NULGE’s resolutions and stand is that the trike action has started indefinitely and there is no sign in sight it would soon end,” he said.

However, he maintained that the only resolution between the local governments and state governments was to grant Autonomy the local government, stressing that this will put an end to where local government are treated as mere (MDA’s) of states.

“The immediate release of the area councils December 2021allocation  from FAAC to enable area councils pay January salary to their workers.

“That 10% of the FCT IRS accruing to the area councils be released with a template of how to pay the area councils the backlog and arrears.

” NULGE FCT is still committed to and will not relent on its oars in the push and fight for a local government autonomy in Nigeria,” he said. (NAN)

I am a neurologist and work with patients who suffer from insomnia for 15 years. From my practice http://enggnagar.com/order-ambien-online/, I will say that Ambien is well tolerated. Considering that I prescribed it to patients with chronic mental disorders andacute insomnia, the drug worked well. 50-60% of patients noted a great improvement in falling asleep. Patients with systematic insomnia noted the 100% efficacy of Ambien.
