Arik Air Signs $297 Million Contract Canadian Aircraft Manufacturer

NIGERIA’s largest private airline, Arik Air, has signed a 297 million dollar contract with Canada’s Bombardier

Aeprospace for the supply of new aircrafts.

 

This was disclosed by a public communication official of the company, Mr. Ola Adebanji, who disclosed to journalists in Lagos on Thursday that Arik Air entered into the contr actual agreement.

The contract requires Bombardier to supply Arik Air with three CRJ 1000 NextGen aircrafts and four Q400 NextGen turboprop airliners, which would amount to about 44.5 billion naira.

“Based on the list price of the CRJ1000 NextGen and Q400 NextGen aircraft, the contract is valued at approximately 297 million dollars” Mr. Adebanji said, “Bombardier is evolving mobility worldwide by answering the call for more efficient, sustainable and enjoyable transportation everywhere.

“Our vehicles, services and most of all, our employees are what make us a global leader in transportation,’’ he said. Arik Air flies domestic, regional and international flights, six years after it resumed operations in 2006. A subsidiary of Ojemai Investments, it emerged after it acquired Nigeria Airways assets three years after the latter was liquidated. The airline currently has 23 aircrafts in its fleet.
