It is a known fact that the journey to this year’s Easter Sunday commenced on Ashe Wednesday, 46 days ago where ashes were placed on the forehead of believers, reminding them that from dust they came and unto dust they shall all return.
This signifies the vanity of life on humanity and the human race as well as the society entirely.
The climax of the Lenten season was the Palm Sunday, an event that established the kingship of Jesus Christ as documented in the canonical gospels, paving way for the Holy week, the most salient week in Christendom.
The solemn moment of the holy week is the Good Friday, commemorating the Crucifixion and Death of Jesus Christ, an event that mark the salvation of mankind with expectations of the resurrection.
20th of April 2025 brings to an end the liturgical observance, celebrating Easter Sunday where Christian communities across the globe are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, a feast documented as the foundation of Christianity.
In the mood of the celebration, Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly Dr. Danladi Jatau joined faithfuls at Evangelical Church Winning All ECWA GoodNews Lafia for Easter Sunday service with a call on Nigerians to keep hope alive despite the challenges undermining the country.
“Jesus is life, Jesus is hope, no matter what the situation will look like, no matter the challenges, there is hope, and I urged all Nigerians to keep hope alive” He said.
Speaker Jatau then called for prayers for leaders at different strata of governance for wisdom on how to pilot the affairs of the country.
“Let all of us belief in God and the power of prayer, let intensify prayers for our nation, let continue to pray and support our leaders at all levels to enable them succeed in the task ahead of them and the society will be better for it.
” Our Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A Sule is doing very well let continue to pray and support him to do more for us and God will continue to protect and guide him aright” Dr. Jatau said.
In a nutshell, the Easter celebration re-echoed the Biblical facts that indeed Jesus Christ has risen from the death, the tomb could not hold him back; the conspiracies of Pharisees were in vine and his death at the Calvary no doubt brought salvation to the mankind, this and many more took the centre stage of the messages delivered by the clergies.
