Despite offering N50 million to the Boko Haram terrorist group as ransom, which they turned down, they on Monday went ahead to kill the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Pastor Lawan Andimi.

Malkam Garba Shehu, in a statement, quoted President Muhammadu Buhari, as saying that the dastardly and wicked act is heinous, cruel and provocative.

Buhari, however, condoled with CAN, the people of Adamawa State and his immediate families.

While condemning the act, Buhari urged countries and supporters of the various terrorists acts out to unleash terror and destruction in the West Africa sub region.

While the negotiation was ongoing earlier on the week before he was assassinated, Andimi, had expressed confidence that he would be released, pleading with his family members, wife and children to solace in God.

However, if he was not released, he attributed it to be perhaps that is the way God destined it. Though, he pleaded in a video that CAN, Adamawa State and Federal Government, should come to his aid.

The Kaduna State Chapter of CAN through its Chairman, Rev. Joseph Hayab, condemned blaming the government for their not intervening in the several killings of Christians in the North-east.
