While negotiation and search into rescue 42 students and families of Kagara students in Niger State, suspected gunmen in the early hours of today (Friday)
allegedly abducted about 300 schoolgirls from Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, in Talata Mafara local government area of Zamfara state.
Daily Trust, a national daily reported that Mr. Sadi Kawaye, a resident in Kawaye village, who identified himself said his daughters, Mansura and Sakina were among those abducted.
“I’m on my way to Jangebe now to see the situation myself. I was told they invaded the school around 1:00 am,” he said.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Muhammad Shehu, pleaded with journalists who contacted him to give him time to ascertain the true situation.
“Give me some times, I can’t say anything now,” he said.
