RESIDENTS of a neighborhood in the Romanian capital Bucharest watched helplessly as a woman reported to be an employee of the Nigerian embassy in the city stood outside her home practically nude recently, while waving her hands dramatically as she spoke to two men whom media reports in the city say were her fellow employees.
According to the well-known Romanian TV, the woman was recently bereaved of her husband, and had relapsed into serious depression over the loss.
Footage of an amateur video shot by a neighbor was seen on the Romanian TV website, showing the woman standing behind a chain-link fence as the two men on the other side, identified as her Nigerian colleagues, appeared to converse with her.
At a point, the woman appeared to be heading back into the building before she turned around to talk some more, waving her hands and weaving her head dramatically. She had nothing on but underpants and what looked like a shower or night cap.
Reports say she had resided at the residence for the last two years.
Policemen later arrived to lead her to a waiting ambulance, having covered her nudity with a blanket. Her belongings were later moved out of her home to an undisclosed location.
According to Romanian TV, Nigerians at the scene of the unfortunate event reacted angrily to attempts by journalists to cover the event, resulting in the physical assault of a female journalist.
