The Lagos State Special Offences Mobile Court, on Wednesday, remanded two construction workers in Badagry Correctional Centre for contravening provisions of the state’s Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law. The mobile court, siting in Eti-Osa Local Government, remanded an engineer and a foreman till June 6, for allegedly breaking government seal to continue construction. The duo had requested for a stand down for their lawyers to arrive in court before their plea would be taken. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged the Federal Government to immediately instruct the Nigerian Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) to withdraw the just released pricing template to allow free flow of discussions by the parties. Mr Joe Ajaero, the NLC President, made the call in a statement signed by him and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja. The Trade Union Congress (TUC) had asked the federal government to consult stakeholders before making any decision on the removal of the petrol subsidy. Osun State High Court has found the owner of popular hotel, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin guilty in the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a former master’s degree student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, whose death occurred between November 5 and 7, 2021, at Hilton Honours Hotel, Ile-Ife. The Osun Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo, while delivering her judgement on the case, held that the circumstantial evidence available to the court, pointed to the killing of Adegoke while being a guest at the hotel owned by Adedoyin. Officers of the Oyo State Police Command have raided the apartment of the sacked Chairman of Park Management System Disciplinary Committee, Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxiliary.
