The Chief Magistrate Court sitting in the Yaba, area of Lagos has remanded Fredrick Nwajagu, the Eze of Ajao estate, for 30 days for threatening to bring the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to the state. The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) confirmed his arrest on April 1 after a video where he made the “inciting statement” surfaced online. In the clip, Nwajagu, dressed in his royal regalia, said Igbo indigenes in Lagos must recruit members of the IPOB to defend their properties from looters. Meanwhile, following his arrest, Nwajagu was charged with conspiracy and breach of public peace. The Federal Government says it has completed the Loko-oweto bridge and the 2nd Niger Bridge and both would be commissioned and handed over before the in-coming administration by May 29. The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola said this during the inspection of the completed Loko-oweto road and bridge on Tuesday in Nasarawa. According to him, the contractors had promised that the project would be completed by the end of March and they made good their promise. "So that's why we're here today. Today is the 4th of April. The Kano State Police Command has arrested one Philibus Ibrahim for allegedly strangling his pregnant girlfriend, 22-year-old Theresa Yakubu to death. The Command’s Commissioner, Mamman Dauda, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday. Ibrahim, who committed the offence in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of the state, was arrested alongside his accomplice Gabriel Bila, both of Unguwar Korau Tudun-Wada Local Government Area.
