Election: Tinubu polls 201,484 to emerge winner in Ekiti

Sen. Bola Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the presidential election held on Saturday in Ekiti. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tinubu polled a total of 201, 484 votes, to defeat other candidates in the election, held across the 16 Local Government Areas of the State. Prof. Akeem Lasisi, the Presidential Election Collation Officer for Ekiti, who announced the result at the INEC Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, said that a total of 988, 923 voters registered in the state. Lasisi, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun, Osun State, said the total number of accredited voters was 315, 058 while the total number of vote cast was 314, 472. Atiku, Tinubu Win Polling Units

As results from polling units in Saturday's presidential and national assembly elections begin to trickle in, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has won his polling unit. Voters lament as BVAs machines malfunction in Abaji poling units

Many voters were stranded as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) BVAs machine developed technical hitches in some polling units in Abaji Area Council, FCT. Some polling units like Ayaura, Onas palace 007 and Maisaje saw voters stranded while lamenting over failure of the machines. At about 12 noon, voters who were seen on queue, waiting to be accredited at Ona’s palace polling unit were yet to start voting due to technical hitches from the BVAs machine.
