President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation today Monday, April 27, at 8pm.
The address is the third since the lockdown commenced in March to contain the spread of the pandemic. On Sunday, the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, extended the state lockdown by another 30 days.
The broadcast is coming in the wave of growing speculation that the president may likely extend the lockdown Lagos, FCT and Ogun State.
Statistics from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as at the time of going to press showed the a total of 1273 positive COVID infected persons across the country. Deaths from the pandemic is hovering below 40.

Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity urged:
“Television, radio and other electronic media stations are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast.”
