REPORTS emerging from the oil city of Bayelsa indicate that the mother of Rt. Hon Kombowei Benson, Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, has been abducted by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Monday.
The woman was reportedly kidnapped from her hometown at Korokorosei community. in Southern Ijaw Council Area of the state by daredevil kidnappers. The details of the kidnap have yet to be ascertained.
In another development, two persons who were allegedly instrumental to the kidnap of Kamene Okonjo, mother of Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, have been arrested.
The Delta State Police said the suspects are currently helping the police in tidying up investigations.
Mrs. Okonjo, who was abducted at her husband’s palace at Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, had been released.
