Officials of the State Security Service (SSS) in Borno State have confirmed the arrest of Boko Haram spokesman, Abul Qaqa in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
The arrest according to findings was effected via GPS tracking of the top Boko Haram chieftain.
A top official of SSS told our reporter on phone that “we have finally picked him up and he is currently in our custody, you can report that as a confirmed development”.
It was gathered that Qaqa who had been speaking on behalf of the Islamic Militia group, that identified themselves as Jamaatu Ahlil Sunna Lidawati wal Jihad, better known as Boko Haram, is a Nigerian citizen from Kogi state, specifically an Igala native.
Qaqa had been responsible for the issuance of all threats from the hideout of the sect, including the ones that preceded bombings of the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, the UN building also in Abuja and several other coordinated attacks and bombings that took place in most parts of northern Nigeria.
The SSS may have flown him to Abuja for further interrogation at the time of filing this report.
