Reliable sources have confirmed that Umana Okon Umana, the embattled Secretary to the Government of
Akwa Ibom State, just suffered from a heart attack at his house in Uyo. A source has also confirmed that the SSS personnel that are guarding him are working feverishly to resuscitate him.
As of this writing, Umana’s personal physicians are undergoing the usual procedures in preparation to fly him abroad for medical treatment.
Asked if the heart attack could have been induced by poisoning, one of the sources close to the incident confirmed that it is a natural case of heart attack. He also added that Umana’s physicians are worried that if he does not receive an immediate proper medical treatment, if another heart attack occurs, which may happen at any moment, he may not survive. It is not clear if Umana has suffered any paralysis as a result of the heart attack.
An an impeccable source close to the Akwa Ibom Government house confirms that Governor Godswill Akpabio has been contacted about the incident and he is cooperating to make sure that Umana receives immediate medical attention and treatment. Another source said Akpabio is also worried that if Umana dies, he (Akpabio) might be blamed.
