Following the failed implementation and commencement of the N30,000 minimum wage to Nigerian workers
by both the Federal and State Governments since April, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has sought the face of President Muhammadu Buhari to help it out.
At some quarters senior officials have been fingered for thwarting the implementation as it’s affect especially junior categories of workers while faulting the claims by the National Salaries and Wages Commission, Chief Richard Egbule, on the matter.
Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, the president of NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, said Nigerian workers were disturbed over the delay in implementing the new minimum wage.
The labour boss, averred though that NLC and TUC were not directly involved in the negotiations, they would wade in the ongoing modality for the implementation broke down.
Wabba, said workers had waited long enough for the new pay, explaining that Nigerian workers are already getting frustrated over the unnecessary delay in the implementation.
The NLC president said the delay in the implementation of the consequential adjustment was not caused by the NLC, adding: “For anybody on that table to say that labour is the one delaying the process that person is not saying the obvious.
