President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, have felicitated with Muslim and Nigerians of other religion on the Eid El Fitri celebration,

which marks the end of the Ramadan fasting.

Buhari and Atiku urged Nigerians to remember that the period of fasting was to usher in a new dawn across the country.

Meanwhile Buhari and Atiku have however in separate statements expressed different opinion on the insecurity challenges in the country.

While commiserating with victims of terrorism, kidnapping and banditry in the country, the president reassured Nigerians that under no circumstances would criminals and mass murderers be allowed to hold the country to ransom.

Buhari said: “Their days are numbered because this administration will pursue them relentlessly and bring them to justice.”

In his statement, Atiku, said the spiraling insecurity across the country puts the country’s food security in bleak future because farmers can no longer go to farms.

He said: “We must also face the sober truth that our country faces a bleak harvest because farmers in our food basket regions cannot go to farms due to the spiraling insecurity in those geopolitical zones.)

“We must not forget the millions of our brothers and sisters that have been displaced by terrorists, bandits and kidnappers.

“Theirs is a present suffering that can only be dealt with when we have justice in our land.”
