Buhari Calls Leah Sharibu’s Mum, Pledges to Rescue Daughter

Following the groundswell of agitations and backlash from both local and international organizations for the rescue of Miss Leah Sharibu,

the Dapchi secondary school girl, kidnapped by dare devil terrorists since February, President Muhammadu Buhari, in a twist on Wednesday, spoke with Mrs. Rebecca Sharibu, her mother, with a promise to rescue her.

After waiting in vain and on ends without sight of her daughter even after classmates have been set free by the sect, Sharibu’s mum has resorted to sue federal government for about N500 million.

Buhari, in a statement signed by Mr. Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity his media, assured her that his administration will do everything it would take to bring her daughter back home.

The President consoled the Sharibu family and assured the parents that the federal government would do its utmost for the safety and security of their daughter.

“I convey my emotion, the strong commitment of my administration and the solidarity of all Nigerians to you and your family as we will do our best to bring your daughter home in peace and safety.” Buhari told her.

He assured the mother that his heart was with her family, as that of the entire nation which continues to pray for the safe return of “our daughter, Leah.”
