By Dele Ogbodo

Arrangement has been concluded for President Muhammadu Buhari, to dialogue with a wide spectrum of Benue State elders over the recent killings

orchestrated by Fulani herdsmen which resulted in death of over 77 persons.

An authoritative source from the presidency confirmed to Sharpedgenews online early this morning that the meeting is aimed at finding a holistic solution to the unhealthy lingering clashes between the farmers and the herdsmen.

While the issue particularly concerning the marauding herdsmen will top the agenda, the alleged arming of civilians and militia by the State Governor, Mr. Sam Ortom will also be part of the discussion, Sharpedgenews learnt.

Mallam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media confirmed the possibility of the meeting before the end of today.

According to him, the federal government will explore every avenue that will lead to restoration of peace and tranquility across the country and especially in Benue State, that has recently become the hotbed of killings of innocent citizens.

He said: “Any initiative by any group that would provide lasting solution to the country’s security challenge.”

He said security entails collective participation of all and it is better for all to come together to provide solutions instead of trading blames.
