Ukraine’s Zelensky Sacks Ambassador To UK Prystaiko After Criticism

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sacked his country's ambassador to the UK. Vadym Prystaiko had recently criticised the president's response to a row over gratitude for British military aid. He had called Mr Zelensky's promise to thank the UK defence minister every morning "unhealthy sarcasm". Kyiv gave no official reason for the dismissal but confirmed that Mr Prystaiko was no longer ambassador. 2 men docked for alleged theft valuables worth N5.2m

The police on Friday arraigned two men before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing Jewelry and other valuable items worth N5.2 million. The defendants, Owolabi Cole, 24, and Abdullahi Suleimon, 20, whose house addresses were not provided, are being tried for alleged stealing, burglary and conspiracy. The Prosecutor, Insp E.O. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar has disclosed that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is expecting 51 additional platforms to boost counter-insurgency and counterterrorism operations in the country. The CAS stated this while addressing officers and men during his maiden operational tour of NAF units in Makurdi, Benue State, according to a statement on Friday by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet. Court To Hear Ex-Gov Attah’s N1.5 billion Defamation Suit Against Ex-AGF Malami

The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has elected to hear a N1.5 billion defamation suit brought against former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami by ex-Governor Victor Attah. Justice Emeka Nwite, in a ruling, dismissed the preliminary objection raised by Mr Malami, challenging the court’s jurisdiction to hear the case. Mr Attah, through his lawyer, Reuben Atabo, had sued the AGF as the sole defendant in the case. In the ruling, Mr Nwite upheld the argument by the plaintiff’s lawyer, Atabo, that the subject of the case fell within the scope of the court’s jurisdictional competence as provided in Section 251 of the constitution. A Federal High Court in Abuja, on Thursday, ordered the State Security Service (SSS) to grant the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, access to his medical records. Justice Binta Nyako, in a judgment, held that the SSS objections to Mr Kanu’s request were unmeritorious. Ms Nyako held that Mr Kanu was constitutionally entitled to have access to both the records he requested and medical doctors of his choice.
