Accept Adeleke’s Victory As Will Of God, Oyetola Tells Osun APC Members

Former Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has accepted Tuesday’s ruling of the Supreme Court which upheld the election of Senator Ademola Adeleke as governor of the state. Oyetola, in a statement he personally signed, said although the verdict of the Apex Court was against the wish of his party members and supporters, he had to accept it in the interest of peace and development of the state. The former governor urged members of his All Progressives Congress, his supporters and those who voted for him during the July 16, 2022, governorship election, to accept the judgement as the will of God and move on. The supreme court has affirmed the election of Ademola Adeleke as the governor of Osun state. Delivering judgment on Tuesday, a five-member panel of the apex court held that the court of appeal correctly reinstated Adeleke as governor. In March, the court of appeal sitting in Abuja reinstated Adeleke as the governor of Osun state. His wife, Beatrice, was handed four years and six months jail term during the sentencing on Friday, BBC reports. On March 23, the jury pronounced a guilty verdict on the senator, his wife, Beatrice, and Obinna Obeta, a doctor who acted as the middleman. The jury held that they conspired to bring the 21-year-old at the centre of the matter to London to exploit him for his kidney.
