The House of Representatives continued its debate on the 2024 appropriation bill, with some lawmakers demanding increased funding for transportation, health, and education. Nigeria Recording Progress In HIV/AIDS Response, Says Minister

The federal government says Nigeria has made huge progress in the HIV/AIDS response and is on the way to ending the disease by 2030. The Minister of State for Health, Tunji Alausa, disclosed this during a media conference on Thursday to mark the 2023 World AIDS Day with the theme, “Let Communities Lead”. Police Nab Suspected Members Of Arms Manufacturing Syndicate In Benue

The Benue State Police Command said it arrested 20 suspected criminals in the state. The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Sewuese Anene, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Makurdi, Benue. The trial of the Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, began, with the EFCC calling three witnesses. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned a couple, Ruth and Oriyomi Idowu, for alleged money laundering and forgery.
