Ibadan Stampede: Old students Demand Release Of Detained Islamic High School Principal

Old students of Islamic High School, Basorun, Ibadan, Oyo State, the venue of the Ibadan funfair tragedy, have demanded the release of the school principal, Abdullah Fasasi, on administrative bail. The National President of the Islamic High School Old Students Association, Bayo Busari, made the demand while speaking with journalists in Ibadan on Saturday. Recall that police on Wednesday detained Mr Fasasi and others in connection with the tragedy, which claimed 35 lives. The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has appointed a new controller, Olatubosun Ajibogun, to head its Federal Capital Territory command. Terrorism Allegation: Finnish Authorities Freeze Simon Ekpa’s Assets

Finnish authorities have frozen assets belonging to Simon Ekpa, controversial pro-Biafra agitator, over alleged terrorism. On November 21, Ekpa was arrested by law enforcement in Finland. Four other men were also arrested for suspected terrorism. The secessionist was subsequently sent to prison by the district court of Päijät-Häme for “spreading terrorist propaganda on social media”.
