Aiyedatiwa’s group mourns Ondo longest-reigning monarch

Mainstream campaign group for Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS) has described as touching, the demise of Ondo State's longest-reigning traditional ruler, the Oloba of Oba-Akoko, Oba Nurudeen Adeniyi Adegoroye. Oba Adegoroye joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday at the age of 92, and had ruled for 52 years, thus becoming the longest-reigning monarch in Ondo State, in contemporary times. An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, on Monday, sentenced a 53-year-old rubber trader, Kenneth Mba, to life imprisonment for defiling a friend’s 12-year-old daughter. Justice Rahman Oshodi, in his judgement, held that the prosecution proved the charge of defilement against the convict beyond a reasonable doubt.
