EU convenes special leaders’ meeting on situation in Israel, Gaza

Israeli army says has killed another ringleader of Hamas attacks

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) say they have killed another man in Gaza suspected of masterminding the large-scale attacks carried out by Islamist Hamas. Billal Al Kedra, commander of Hamas units in southern Khan Younis, was killed in airstrikes the previous evening, according to an IDF statement on Sunday morning. Other Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists were also killed, the IDF said. The latest news came after the IDF said it had killed two other men they suspect of masterminding the Hamas attacks. NUC says top-up degree programme by NBTE not recognised

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has disowned the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) top-up programme claiming to bridge the gap between polytechnic and university degrees. This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Saturday by the Acting Executive Secretary of the commission, Chris Maiyaki. No ransom paid to secure release of NSUK students – Gov.

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has said that no ransom was paid to the abductors of the four female students of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) rescued by the military. Lagos: Court Sentences Policeman To Death For Killing Female Lawyer

Justice Ibironke Harrison of a Lagos High Court has sentenced a police officer, Drambi Vandi, to death by hanging for shooting a Lagos-based lawyer, Omobolanle Raheem, on the last Christmas Day. Mr Vandi was arraigned on January 16 on a count of murder, but he pleaded not guilty. The court granted an accelerated hearing on the case.
