12m households to get N8, 000 for six months- Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced that 12 million families in Nigeria will receive N8,000 over a six-month period to help alleviate the difficulties faced by Nigerians due to the removal of subsidies. The President stated in a letter to the House of Representatives, read aloud by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas at a plenary session on Tuesday, that this financial support is intended to assist impoverished and vulnerable individuals in meeting their basic needs. Tinubu also highlighted that this initiative would have a positive impact on around 60 million people. Court Gives DSS 7day Ultimatum to charge or release Emefiele

The high court sitting in Abuja on Thursday has ordered the DSS to either charge or release suspended Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele. News Spec learnt that Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court gave a one-week ultimatum to the Department of State Services (DSS) to do the needful.
