NDLEA Intercepts UK-bound Skunk In Native Black Soap, Tramadol Pills In Women’s Hair

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a consignment of 3.20kg skunk concealed in native black soap heading to the United Kingdom. In a statement on Sunday, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, said the drugs were intercepted at the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos on Wednesday. He said a freight agent involved in the attempt to export the illicit drug was arrested. Police Arrest Wanted Bandits’ Informant, Arms Supplier In Abuja

The police command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) said it had arrested an alleged informant and logistics supplier to a kidnapping and banditry group terrorising the FCT and its environs. The police public relations officer in the FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja. Following his reported arrest after his suspension, the Department of State Services (DSS) has said that Godwin Emefiele, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is not in its custody. Following the announcement of Emefiele’s suspension, there were reports that he was arrested by operatives of the secret police. Reacting in a terse statement posted on Twitter on Saturday morning, the DSS said the suspended CBN governor is “currently” not in detention. “Currently, Emefiele is not with the DSS,” the tweet reads. Tinubu Suspends Emefiele As CBN Governor

President Bola Tinubu has suspended the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele, from office with immediate effect. This is sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy, according to a statement on Friday by the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey. According to the statement, Emefiele has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will act as the CBN governor pending the conclusion of the investigation and the reforms. Sudan Warring Sides Agree To U.S., Saudi-Brokered Ceasefire

Saudi Arabia and the U.S., who have been brokering talks in a joint statement, said Sudan’s warring sides have agreed on a nationwide ceasefire for 24 hours from 6:00 a.m. (0400 GMT) on Saturday. Security Operatives Rescue 13 Kidnap Victims, Kill One In Ondo

Security operatives in Ondo have rescued no fewer than 13 victims of kidnapping along Abuja Road in Isua, the headquarters of Akoko South-East Local Government Area of the state.
