Onu Canvasses STI Deployment to Overcome Insecurity

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has canvassed for the deployment of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), to help Nigeria overcome the present insecurity bedeviling the country. Onu said this during a working visit by the Senior Executive Course (43) of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic studies (NIPSS), in his office on Tuesday. According to Dr. Onu, the use of STI will enhance intelligence gathering and facilitate the use of cutting-edge technology to eliminate security challenges in all regions of the country. Ondo Electoral Petition Tribunal Declines Jurisdiction on Jegede’s Prayer

The Ondo state electoral petition tribunal led by Justice Umar Abubakar on Tuesday ruled that it lacked jurisdiction to entertain the prayers of MR Eyitayo Olayinka Jegede on the procedures adopted by the All Progressive Congress, APC, in fielding  Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu and his deputy, MR Lucky Ayedatiwa in the October 2020 governorship election. In a ruling that was delivered by Justice Umar Abubakar the tribunal refused to give a clear-cut verdict saying it lacked  jurisdiction to provide answer and interpretation to the questions raised by the petitioner, MR Eyitayo Jegede which were purely constitutional. Motorists and commuters plying Gwagwalada-Lokoja Expressway have lamented the constant gridlock due to the ongoing construction and parking of articulate vehicles on the road. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that motorists heading toward Lokoja and those from Zuba spend several hours in the gridlock from Gwagwalada Bridge to Kuje junction following the narrowing of the road.
