Police confirm traffic official death in Cross River
The Cross River Police Command says it is aware of the death of an official of the State Traffic Management and Regulatory Agency, TRAMRA.A statement by the Command PRO, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, in Calabar said: "Preliminary information indicates that one Godwin Ukpai Okobo, ‘m’, a commercial mini-bus driver, was involved in an altercation with officials of TRAMRA yesterday around Marian Hills, Calabar, which allegedly resulted in the death of one Mr Akerete Okon, a TRAMRA officer, after he was rushed to the hospital."Eitokpah added that, "investigation into the incident had commenced to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the officer’s death," even as he reassured residents that the police would carry out a thorough and impartial investigation after which updates would be communica...
