Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, is dead. Iwuanyanwu died at 82. Jide, his son, announced the passing of Iwuanyanwu in a statement on Thursday. President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is dead. He died Thursday July 25 at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday expressed the Commission's ability to conduct the local government elections if given the responsibility. The chairman of the commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu made the claim when he appeared before the joint Senate and House of Representatives Committee on Electoral Matters on preparations for the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States. The Senate on Tuesday passed the amended National Minimum Wage Act to increase the minimum wage from N30,000 to N70,000. The bill which was submitted to the National Assembly was passed by the green chambers after the first, second, and third readings. The Ondo State Police Command has said its operatives rescued the victims who were abducted on Friday in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.
