Labour Party Candidate Wins Rep Seat in Kaduna

The candidate of the Labour Party, Donatus Mathew has been declared winner of the Kaura Federal Constituency. Declaring the result on Sunday, the returning officer, Professor Elijah Ella, said Mathew polled a total of ten thousand, five hundred and eight votes to defeat the incumbent member and candidate of the PDP, Mr. Gideon Lucas Gwani who came second, with ten thousand, two hundred and ninety-seven votes. Former National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has been declared as winner of Saturday’s election for Edo North Senatorial District in Edo State. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Returning Officer, Benjamin Adesina on Sunday, declared the former Governor of the State as winner of the polls, having scored 107,110 votes. As results from polling units in Saturday's presidential and national assembly elections begin to trickle in, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has won his polling unit. The  Federal Capital Territory (FCT)  Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja, has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a re-run chairmanship election in six wards of Kuje Area Council. Delivering judgment, Chief Magistrate Muinat Oyekan, who led a three-member panel, nullified the elections held in nine polling units where elections were marred by irregularities.
