Minister Urges Nigeria’s Organized Private Sector to Invest in Bitumen Production

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has called on the country’s organized private sector to invest in the production of the abundant resources in the country. This is coming even as he said that the  importation of bitumen from different countries into the country must stop, even as he added that continuous importation makes no sense. The Minister made the disclosure at the 2021 Nigeria Building and Research Institute (NBRRI) conference which held in Abuja with theme: Circular Economy in the Built Environment for Enhanced Performance of the Nigerian Construction Industry. Senate Commends ICPC over Budget Performance

The Senate Committee Chairman on anti-corruption and financial crimes, Senator Suleiman Abdu Kwari, has commended the board and management of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, (ICPC) for their implementation of the 2020 budget, and commitment to ensuring that corruption was minimised to the barest minimum in the society. Kwari stated this during the Senate Committee oversight visit to assess the Commission’s 2020, and first quarter 2021 budget performance, which also aimed to acquaint them of challenges facing the Commission. Kuje Council Chairman’s wife empowers women, youths on skill acquisition

Mrs Salamatu Sabo, the wife of the Chairman of Kuje Area Council, FCT, has organised a three-day training workshop on skill acquisition for women and youths in the area. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the participants were given N20, 000. each to start business and trained in different skills, including soap making, perfume making, tailoring and make-up among others.
