Christmas : Nasarawa lawmaker, Hon Zhekaba spends over N8m to constituents

Member representing Obi Two constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Luka Iliya Zhekaba, says he has earmarked N8 million to be disbursed to the people of his constituency in the spirit of Christmas festivity.

Zhekaba, the Minority Leader and Chairman , House Committee on Housing and Environment disclosed this while disbursing N5000 each to 200 women of his constituency in Duduguru, Obi Local Government Area of the State.

The minority leader of the House said that the gesture was to put smile on the faces of his constituents thereby improving on their standard of living during and after the festive period.

According to him, I feel it necessary based on the support my electorates have been giving to me to extend and reach out to them in this festive period.

“Today, I am disbursing N5000 each to 200 women of my constituency, then I will also give N10,000 each to 400 youths, some elders, clergies and personalities will have N200, 000, N100,000, N50,000 respectively.

” All is cash but for the party officials it will include rice and this is part of my commitment to improve on their standard of living .

” In all, I will spend N8million on my constituents on this festive period to put smile in their faces and to improve on their standard of living,” he said.

Zhekaba also assured them of continuous sound and effective representation at the state legislature

” By God’s grace, I will continue to provide sound, fair, effective and quality representation at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.

” I will continue to initiate good policies and programmes that will have direct bearing on your lives and the lives of other people of my constituency ,” he added

The lawmaker also assured of his continued determination to attract developmental projects to the constituency.

Zhekaba solicited for the support of all and sundry to enable him succeed.

He urged them and other Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for the nation’s unity, peace, security, progress and development.

Responding, Rhoda Usman, Suzana Jeremiah, beneficiaries thanked Hon Zhekaba for the gesture and prayed God to bless him abundantly.

They have assured the lawmaker of their loyalties and support to succeed at all times.

They have also called on other political class to emulate Hon Zhekaba’s gesture

In a related development, Hon Zhekaba also played host to Migili Youth Association (MYA) led by its President, Mr Ajeh Oli Christopher at his residence in Duduguru, Obi LGA, where the association said that the visit was to congratulate and assured Hon Zhekaba of their support.

” One of our key agenda is to support our leaders. You are a true representative of Migili nation.

The President solicited the support of Zhekaba to enable them succeed, especially, in their carnival slated for Dec.27.

On his part, Hon Zhekaba assured them of his support and partnership for the overall development of the Migili nation and the constituency.

Hon Zhekaba also urged them to only take positive advice in the interest of the association and Migili nation at large.

The lawmaker urged them to unite themselves and Migili nation in general.
