The CEO Emovworho logistics limited, Comrade Austin Obule Emovworho, has condemned the coup d’état in Niger Republic by its military forces and has called on the ECOWAS Chairman, President Bola Tinubu to interven for the political development of the country.
Emovworho, who made the call in a press statement issued in Abuja, called on President Tinubu to ensure the military forces return to their barracks and ensure the speedy restoration of democratic order in Niger.
The CEO further rejected the unlawful seizure of power by any group or individual as it reverses democratic gains and development and threatens the realisation of Africa’s aspiration for a better Africa.
According to him, he was optimistic that President Tinubu’s new role as ECOWAS Chairman would foster democracy, improved regional integration, cooperation, border security, and coordinated monetary affairs.
“I fully supports the positions of ECOWAS, the African Union and the United Nations in their call for all parties to return to constitutional rule urgently and unconditionally and to refrain from further interference with the democratically elected Government of the Republic of Niger.
“I encourages the international community to continue to support the people of Niger, the initiative by ECOWAS, and the fundamental role of the civilians in the transitional process leading towards the restoration of normalcy and civilian-led government in the country.
“I urge President Tinubu not to relent as I believe that with his level of patriotism, commitment, and clarity of purpose displayed so far, the West African subregions will be protected. (NAN)
