A COURT order restricting the Maxi Okwu led-faction of the All Progressive Grand Alliance from holding a town hall meeting in Enugu has forced the group to postpone its town hall meeting scheduled for Enugu on Friday.
A statement by Mr. Okwu in Enugu on Wednesday, the town hall meeting was temporarily postponed pending the determination of the suit.
The statement stated that the order also restrained his executive committee from parading themselves as leaders of the party, adding that they would abide by the order until it was set aside.
“I have received an electronic copy of the controversial order made on April 15, 2013 in suit no FHC/AWK/CS/88/2013.
“We are not put on notice and as we speak the order has not been served on me.
“As a counsel of 35-years standing, I will abide by that court order on me until it is set aside,’’ it stated.
The statement urged party loyalists to be patient as consultations and meetings would continue.
“This is the third suit against us by Victor Umeh and his supporters in the Federal High Courts,’’ the statement said.
