As part of efforts at cushioning the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the poor and vulnerable, the Federal Government is in the process of distributing 150 trucks of rice which had previously been seized from smugglers by the Customs Department.
This was made known by the Minister of Finance Mrs Zainab Ahmed on Monday as part of the briefing she had with the media.
The president has approved drawings from the Strategic Grains Reserve, the Nigerian customs had in its custody, about 150 trucks of rice that is now being handed over to the Humanitarian Ministry for distribution to the states across the country.
