Ecological Challenge: FG to Ensure Equity in Project Distribution, Says Onu

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has said federal government will continue to be guided by justice, equity and fair play in the distribution of projects across the country.

 

Onu, made the pledge while commissioning a flood and erosion control works at the Alex Ekwueme University Teaching Hospital (AEUTH), Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, at the weekend.

He reassured that no part of the country will suffer neglect due to geographical location or political consideration.

With completion of the project, he explains, the danger to lives and properties associated with erosion and persistent flooding would be reduced.

The Minister said the project is one of the eleven (11) federal government’s ecological intervention projects for the 3rd quarter of 2018.

The Minister appealed to the management of the Teaching Hospital and the benefiting communities to cherish the project by preventing indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the drainage channels, adding that it is their responsibility to own and maintain the project in order to ensure it sustainability.
