The Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the constitution of the Party’s high-level National Campaign Council for the Edo State Governorship Election to be chaired by Governor of Kano State, H.E. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. .
The Governor of Imo State, H.E. (Sen) Hope Uzodinma will serve as Deputy Chairman and Hon. Abbas Braimoh as Secretary of the 49-member APC National Campaign Council.
This followed the approval for the constitution of a National Campaign Council for the 19th September, 2020 Governorship Election, by the National Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee, H.E. Mai Mala Buni.
Others on the list include, Deputy Senate President Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege; H.E. Inuwa Yahaya, H.E. Alh. Yahaya Bello, H.E. Babajide Sanwo-Olu governors of Gombe, Kogi and Lagos States respectively; H.E. (Chief) John Odigie-Oyegun and H.E. Comrade Adams Oshiomhole both former governors of Edo State and past National Chairmen of the party.
Senators Wammakko, Orji Uzor Kalu, Rochas Okorocha; Minister of State (Petroleum Resources) Timipre Sylva, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godswill Akpabio, Former Governor of Delta State Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan; Former Governor of Edo State Prof Osunbor, Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF)Engineer Babachir Lawal; Hon Peter Akpatason, Hon Agbonyinma, Hon Patrick Obahiagbon are among the notable names on the list.
Dr. Pius Odubu and Engr Chris Ogiemwonyi who both contested for the ticket at the primaries also made the list.
The campaign council will be inaugurated on Monday, 6th July 2020 at the Party’s National Secretariat.
