ACTING Chair of Nigeria’s anti-corruption outfit, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, revealed that the Commission had recovered up to N320 million from Nigerian swindlers
who defrauded German citizens of their funds.
Mr. Ibrahim spoke on Monday while receiving a visiting German ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs Dorothee Janatzke, at his office, urging the German government to relocate its African office for the German National Police to Nigeria to facilitate better co-operation between the two countries in combating financial crimes.
The German ambassador, who was accompanied by First Secretary Mr Jens Wagner, commended the EFCC for its work, saying she was on a visit to the commission to see for herself what the commission was doing and to familiarize with the operations of the anti-graft agency.
Wenzel assured Nigeria of Germany’s continued support in crime fighting.
