As the Nigeria’s presidential and national assembly elections holds today, President Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi have all voted at various polling units in their states.
President Muhammadu Buhari
Pesident Muhammadu Buhari voted at polling unit 003, Sarkin Yarn A ward.
After voting, the president showed off his ballot papers to the voters around his polling unit which indicated that he voted for his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Atiku Abubakar (PDP)
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar who is the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also cast his vote in his home state in Adamawa, saying that he is optimistic of emerging victorious at the end of the exercise.
Atiku, who spoke to journalists after casting his vote, said he was satisfied with the conduct so far. Atiku is one of the front runners in today’s presidential election.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (APC)
In Lagos, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), also cast his vote at a polling unit in Bourdillion, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
Tinubu voted alongside his wife, Remi, and other party chieftains.
While ddressing reporters, he said “democracy is here to stay” in Nigeria and that he is “too confident of victory”.
He said the voting process is “going smoothly” and “going well”.
On the turnout of voters, the APC candidate said, “This is expected, we need a good turnout and that is the adoption and the commitment to democracy and the democratic process must take place.”
Asked how certain of victory he is, Tinubu said, “I’m too certain.”
Peter Obi (LP)
Also in Agulu, Anambra State, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi has cast his vote in the ongoing Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Obi voted at his Polling Unit, PU 019, Umudimakasi Square, Agulu, Anambra State.
The Labour Party presidential candidate was accompanied to the polling booth by his wife, Margaret.
