ENAN holds 8th National Annual Scientific Conference, calls for adequate motivation 

The Emergency Nurses Association of Nigeria (ENAN) on Tuesday commenced its 8th National Annual Scientific Conference 2023 at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH) Gwagwalada, FCT.
The conference with the Theme titled “Effect of Inadequate Motivation/Incentive on The Moral and Output of The Emergency Nurses Working in The Emergency Department commenced from 26th November – to end 4th December, 2023.
The National Chairman of ENAN, Dere Bashirat Nike, speaking with newsmen  said the conference is aimed at improving the academic knowledge on the care of Emergency Nureses and to educate its members in managing emergency patients.
According to the National Chairman, there was need to motivate the members though providing conducive environment, adequate manpower and machineries to help manage Emergency patients in the country.
Mrs Jiringho Adanoritsewo Lilian, the National Treasurer of the Association during her lecture on Geriatric Emergency, advocated for all Emergency Departments to have a Geriatric Centre where they take care of older persons.
The National secretary said older persons come to the Emergency Department with different ailments, hence the need for Emergency Nurses to pay more attention to them was paramount.
However, she also called for adequate motivation of members for health development and to help manage Emergency patients in the country.
