Secondary school exit classes that is SSS3, across the nation have been directed to reopen on the 4th of August immediately after the Sallah break.
According to a statement on the Twitter handle of the Federal Ministry of Education, this will enable students to utilize the two weeks to prepare for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations which begin on the 17th of August,2020.
According to the statement, this is the unanimous decision reached between the Ministry, States Commissioners of Education, Nigerian Union of Teachers, Proprietors of Private Schools and Chief Executives of Examination bodies at a virtual consultative meeting held today.
The statement signed by the Ministry’s Director, Press and Public Relations, Ben Bem Goong, disclosed another meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow between the Ministry and Chief Executives of NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS in order to harmonise their examination dates such it can be expeditiously communicated to all stakeholders by the Ministry.
