FCT CASSON launches Jornal, assures to support fight against FGM


The Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) FCT Chapter, has launched its Maiden Edition Jornal in Abuja and has assured to support the fight against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), to keep the Girl Child in School among others. 


Mrs Akachukwu B.I, the FCT CASSON Chairperson at her welcome speech during the Lounching of the Maiden Edition Jornal in Abuja, said over 200 million women suffer from FGM, adding that CASSON was committed in the fight against the causes. 


According to her, Africa has the highest number of girls going through FGM which reflects poorly on the regard for the well being of baby girls, sisters and mothers, maintaining that CASSON hopes to support Foundations like SDF, NAPTIP in the fight against the heinous crime.


“CASSON FCT is here to assure you that we will always support the fight against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and to keep the Girl Child in School. 


“It is our deepest hope that you help us in order generic strattera online our quest to end the continuation of the deplorable things done to the girl Child in this country and all over the world.


“In Africa, we have the highest number of girls going through FGM which reflects poorly on our regard for the well being of our baby girls, sisters and mothers.


“Furthermore, I want to appreciate the government on our authorities for having employed counselors into various offices especially the Educational Institutions,” she said.


Mrs Abigail Okon, the reviewer said the journal reflects on the ills in the society and the issues of child sexual abuse they undergo at young age in the community.

 
The reviewer said there are so much sexual problems in the society as a result of what the child suffers at young age by early marriages and trauma related cases.

 
Sa’adatu Adamu, the Chairperson Planning Committee of FCT CASSON Jornal, said there was need to create awareness and educate people on the need to patronise Counsellors to help address trauma related issues in the country. 


Adamu, however called on parents to properly bring up their children for the development of the country, adding that for a child to be effective in school the home front have a greater role to play. (NAN)
