The federal government has appointed Engr. Aliyu Maje Adnan, as the acting Chief Executive Officer/Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency
for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
The appointment which was conveyed in a letter by the Minister of Science Technology, Dr. Ogbonnanya Onu, foreclosed the recent controversies and uncertainties surrounding the search for a new helmsman for the agency.
Mr. Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, the agency’s Deputy Director of Information and Protocol, in a statement on Sunday, said the appointment which is with immediate effect, took effect from Thursday last week.
On the appointment, Ayeoyenikan, said Adnan being the most senior director was next to Prof. Mohammed Haruna, whose five year tenure ended on April 2, as Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NASENI.
The appointment letter as signed by the minister read in part: “Appointment as Acting EVC/CEO of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). I refer to the Nominal Roll of NASENI forwarded to my Office in a letter with Ref. No. NASENI/AD/GA/8/XV11a/536 dated 11/4/2018, by the Director of Administration and Human Resources with you as the most senior Director in the Agency.
“Based on the above information, you are hereby appointed to manage the affairs of the agency as acting EVC/ Chief Executive Officer until further notice. Your appointment in acting capacity is with effect from 26/4/2018.”
Engr. Dr. Adnan holds a PhD in Production Engineering from Bayero Univer
Until his appointment, Adnan was a research director in the agency Research. He started work as Director/Chief Executive Officer of Hydraulic
Dr. Adnan is a fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE).
