The Federal Executive Council (FEC), on Wednesday approved a new policy guideline that will boost power transmission in the country.
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola SAN who briefed Villa Reporters at the end of FEC Meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, revealed that the thrust will enable Nigerians access more electricity in no distant time.
According to the minister, the new guideline will fast track foreign investment to the sector which will make it possible for power to be added to the national grid.
He however regretted that while the country is generating over 7000 MWs, the DISCOs, lack the capacity to take more than 5000MWs.
