The Federal Government has called for collaborations from government at all levels and the Organised Private Sector (OPS) inorder to create a conducive business environment for local entrepreneurs.
Dr Adeleke Mamora, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI),made the call at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Techno Expo in Abuja on Friday.
He said the Federal Government was committed to working with governments and the OPS to address this issue and attract more investments to the country.
The Minister, who also acnowledged the role of international partnerships in driving innovation and development in Nigeria, maintained that collaboration with other countries was equally critical.
“It can bring in new technologies, knowledge and expertise and we must continue to seek these opportunities to support the growth and development of our nation.
“We need remind ourselves that the role of STI in diversifying the Nigerian economy is not a one-time event.
“It is a continuous process that requires the efforts of all stakeholders,” he said.
Mamora added that the momentum, support and encouragement must be sustained to foster the growth of technology and Innovation and also create an enabling environment for the private sector to thrive.
The Minister reiterated that for the betterment of the Nigerian society, all hands should be on deck to support the growth of technology and Innovation.
He said government was committed to supporting young entrepreneurs and inventors as this was another key to diversifying the Nigerian economy and creating new opportunities.
Mrs Monilola Udoh, Permanent Secretary of the STI ministry, remarked that the expo was a week of remarkable activities geared towards showcasing new products and developments in science and technology.
She said the ministry was poised to collaborate with, and complement efforts at all levels to promote innovation, advances in technology and industrialisation of Nigeria.(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
